Content Integration with VCM and VAP

Hi All,
I am working as a Content migrator. I don't Know the flow (How the VCM Contents is displaying in VAP), I have worked in Both DSM/DPM, Please anyone tell me how the Vignette Application Portal is displaying VCM Contents.
I have created the contents in VCM then I created the Navigation item for the VCM content, in the URL field I given the VCM Content GUID. My question is How the Portal is Identifying that GUID and Display it in Preview Mode.
We are Using Dyanamic Site Module. Please tell me How the DPM/DSM will help to integrate with VCM.

Hello jayaramgussy:

I wonder why do you use the navigation item type as URL, according to my experience I used to make the Navigation Item type as Page, then from the VCM I use this navigation item when I create new template as the Portal menu Item, so when you preview this navigation item on the portal (through the Site View link, giving that this item is Enabled) it gives you view similar to the template view.

I hope that I could introduce any help.
