Hi,

I am new to Vignette products. I am working  on a Vignette portal  project that has an architecture with only VAP. There is another CMS server that is used instead of VCM. I installed VAP 7.3 in my local environment and checking over product features. I have developed jsf- based portlet application with jsr-168 specification.

So far, I am blocked to develop solution for some cases. Here are some listed below:

-It is hard to design a page that the PAGE component has limited features to customize. For example,  you can not specify the layout with both row and column criteria. You have to choose one of them. This causes problem in such a case:  When column is selected as orientation, the portlets can not be placed in any panel horizantally. They are always listed vertically. No change occurs when the max width of portlet or panel is changed. The basic colspan, rowspan or alignment features of html can not be applied. Is there anyway to do so?

- While integrating current template pages to portal, there are some points that i can not improve. There is no problem with grid and theme components as  you can duplicate these components. So that you can create template of these components and  you can override the default theme or grid for each page. But the  most dynamic part of the page "Page Content" can not be duplicated. Because of that I can not create template Page components and I have to create each page. Each time I have to design the layout of the page content. Is there any way to manage this with only VAP?
